Inn at Laurel Point Hotel

The Inn at Laurel Point is a world-famous hotel located in James Bay in Victoria BC. It has 200 rooms with amazing views of the downtown harbour.

The Laurel Point Inn

Located at 680 Montreal Street, the Inn at Laurel Point has taken significant steps to be socially responsible. For example, it was British Columbia’s first hotel to be completely carbon neutral.

The hotel features many amenities such as waterfront dining, an indoor pool, a fitness centre, pet-friendly accommodation options and a variety of games available when travelling with kids.

The Inn also specializes in hosting wedding events. The venue has packages for up to 200 guests as well as for smaller, more intimate ceremonies. The Iconic Wedding package features access to the ballroom, a specialized menu for guests, and two nights in a suite with complimentary breakfast in bed the day after the wedding.

The Inn and Social Responsibility

The owners of the Laurel Point Inn have done a lot to make their hotel completely carbon neutral. This is something they achieved in 2009. The hotel’s efforts included replacing all lightbulbs with LED lights and using hydrothermal technology instead of electricity to provide air conditioning to rooms.

The hotel keeps up to 77% of its waste from ending up in a landfill through recycling and composting initiatives. Bath products like soap and shampoo that aren’t used completely get donated to Soap For Hope which is an organization that sterilizes old soap, recycles it and then donates it to charities for use by people who are homeless.

Used sheets that can no longer be used in guest rooms at the hotel are also turned into bandages for first aid purposes in countries that need them.

Aura Waterfront Restaurant

Located inside the hotel, the Aura Restaurant serves a variety of amazing meals. When eating at the restaurant, you’ll get a view of Victoria’s spectacular Inner Harbour the place where boats and float planes come and go from.

The Aura Restaurant is open daily for every meal, including happy hour from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. However, on weekends, instead of lunch the cooks only serve brunch.
