Victoria Butterfly Gardens

Butterfly Gardens Butterfly

Victoria Butterfly Gardens is a tourist attraction with tropical plants, fish, birds and butterflies in Brentwood Bay not far from Butchart Gardens.

It’s a popular place for children, plant lovers and anybody who loves butterflies.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, Victoria Butterfly Gardens suspended operations in the spring and remained closed for a number of weeks in 2020. The attraction reopened in May and is still open as of early February 2021.

Guests are asked to practice physical distancing, follow the one-way path, and to avoid touching anything within the gardens.

For additional details about this reopening, see the Victoria Butterfly Gardens website.

Butterfly Gardens

Victoria Butterfly Gardens is an indoor facility with a glass roof and lots of tropical plants and creatures inside. It’s not a huge place, but large enough to house 70 different species of butterflies that flutter around freely among the lush green plants.

Other animals include frogs, fish, tortoises, iguanas, flamingos and tropical birds which also hop, swim, roam and fly about the facility. The main attraction, of course, is the hundreds if not thousands of multi-coloured butterflies.
